From San José de Costa Rica to the Envisión Festival in Uvita

In Costa Rica we will find a local experience: we will cross part of the country by private transfer from San José to Uvita on the South Pacific coast.     

​

• The first stop of our trip will be in the Arenal volcano where we will make a cavalcade through the waterfalls, enjoy the natural hot springs of the volcano and we will cross the jungle bordering the Celeste River with its turquoise waters.     

• We will visit the indigenous Maleku community, with whom we will have an exchange and learning meeting of their profound worldview.     

• We will experience the exciting experience of rafting, participate in a temazcal healer and yoga classes. We will go up by cable car to the volcano area and descend in 8 stretches of zip lines (if we want).     

• Our second stop will be Turrialba and then continue to the area of ​​Sarapiquí where we will visit a sustainable plantation of palmito, a delicacy that we will taste in situ. During our stay we will also do the cacao ceremony, which will put us in touch with the sweet and inexhaustible power of love of our heart.     

• Finally we will finish our tour with 3 days at the Envision Festival, a celebration dedicated to awakening our human potential. Envision provides a platform for different cultures to coexist in a sustainable community inspired by art, spirituality, yoga, music, dance, education and fundamentally enhance our connection with nature.

PROGRAM

​

Day 1 - SAN JOSÉ DE COSTA RICA - COSTA RICA WELCOME

Our driver will be waiting for you at the airport to welcome to our country and drive to your hotel, located in the capital, very close to parks and museums.

Discover a true treasure, located in the heart of the Costa Rica capital city, build in 1910. First, the home of wealthy coffee farmers; now, 80 years later, restored and remodeled, preserving its historical splendor, transformed into a modern-day family hotel.

Day 2 - SAN JOSE DE COSTA RICA - WALK THROUGH THE CITY LIKE A NATIVE

Let us show you our capital city like a friend would show you the local beauty of a constantly changing “chepe” city. From public libraries that were torn down and became corky parking lots, to hidden pieces of the Berlin Wall as well as kitsch canteens nestled in the local markets.

We’ll take you on a walking tour of a place we love to show our friends and that we proudly call home.

Day 3 - ARENAL - MALEKU INDIGENOUS VILLAGE VISIT

Today your guide and driver will be at the hotel, to start the journey around our country. Departure to Arenal, La Fortuna (which means "The Great Fortune") is home not only to one of the most exciting volcanoes in Costa Rica (Arenal), but to some of the most beautiful waterfalls, hot springs, indigenous communities and horseback riding trails in the country.

Tuina Fueja is a little project located at Palenque Margarita, a small Maleku indigenous community in the Northern Zone, its main objective is to share with its visitors an introduction to Maleku indigenous culture. Don Alfredo will be our host, he will share his ancient stories, sacred places and others.

Day 4 - ARENAL - LA FORTUNA - HORSEBACK RIDE TO LA FORTUNA WATERFALL - HOT SPRINGS VISIT

On this horseback ride to the La Fortuna waterfall, you will see the spectacular Arenal volcano and dormant Cerro Chato volcano off in the distance with gorgeous green countryside all around.

This is a slow and easy ride up to the waterfall, so it is perfect for first-time riders or people who really want to soak in the surrounding natural beauty.

Day 5 - TEMAZCAL - YOGA

This morning we will enjoy a temazcal, practice yoga and enjoy a delicious vegetarian meal surrounded by nature in a spectacular place.

Day 6 - RIVER WALK

Discover one of Costa Rica's best kept secrets on a hike through the Volcano Tenorio National Park. You will hike through the rainforest and along the Celeste River, where you can observe one of nature's most intriguing phenomenons. Two brooks merge together, turning clear water into a divine hue of turquoise. This chemical reaction, due to the volcanic minerals present, makes for an astounding sight that can only be experienced at this unique location. This challenging hike is a fantastic opportunity for healthy exercise and unforgettable experiences in one of Costa Rica's most unique hidden gems.

Day 7 - CABLE CAR AND ZIP LINE ADVENTURE

The slow-paced sky tram gondolas will provide a smooth ride through the rain forest, with endless views along the way, so you can appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds you on your way to the top. Once at the at the observation deck, you will be able to enjoy the most magnificent views of the volcano's south face for as long as you desire.

You will then gear up and get ready to ride the zip-lines down to the bottom. Your guides will provide you with a helmet, harness, and gloves, and explain the proper way to ride the zip-lines. In total, there are 8 zip-lines, the longest of which is 2,493 feet (1,250 m). This is a fun and exhilarating experience.

Day 8 - SARAPIQUI - KSPI KSPI TOUR CULTURAL

No visit to Costa Rica is complete without at least trying one of our most authentic and beloved foods: Pejibaye. It is as peculiar and different as it sounds, so no wonder Sarapiquí is the perfect place to find this and a few other uniquely tropical and Costa Rican goodies.

A Kapi Kapi day: begin your cultural tour with a local indigenous drink of chicha, explore the archaeological park “Alma Ata” and discover the history and hear the legends from the direct descendants of the region’s pre-columbian inhabitants.

Day 9 - SARAPIQUI - RAFTING - PALMAR LUNCH

Spend a day rafting or floating in the pristine fresh water rivers of a 100% natural playground. Enjoy nature and get a little adrenaline rush while learning about the Sarapiquí region.

After the adventure, visit a beautiful farmland, learn and taste some of the most delightful fruit in the country. From the soil and tree to your belly! Lunch included.

Day 10 - TURRIALBA - VISIT GUAYABO ARCHEOLOGICAL MONUMENT

Departure to Turrialba, because we want you to experience it: an area on the verge of the Caribbean tropics, so rich and fertile that it’s the land for both coffee and sugar cane, as well as macadamia nuts. This is the place where captain Morgan (yes, the pirate!) was defeated and forced back into the Caribbean sea.

This incredibly lush land is home to the largest indigenous archeological site in the country and an active volcano that is often overlooked.

Here, you will visit Guayabo, which is tucked away in the shadows of the Turrialba Volcano. It is Costa Rica’s most important archeological site and our expert-guided tour provides an opportunity to explore the remains of what was believed to be a bustling 10,000 people city which vanished mysteriously right before the arrival of the Spanish conquerors in the 16th century.

Day 11- TURRIALBA - CACAO CEREMONY

This morning one member of the indigenous community around Turrialba will share with you a cacao ceremony.

Day 12 - ENVISION FESTIVAL

Here we say goodbye to the guide and the transport that has accompanied us throughout the Costa Rica trip. They leave us in Uvita, near the Envision festival, where you will enjoy the annual music festival where wild nature, art, music and much fun come together. Now it's time to have fun, relax with music and beautiful people!

Day 13 & 14 - UVITA - ENVISION FESTIVAL

Whether you are here to become one with nature, explore waterfalls, surf, practice yoga or indulge in some seriously good food, the South Pacific has the perfect amount of comfort and ruggedness. Beach after beach after beach offers a unique landscape and range of physical and spiritual activities to satisfy your mind, body and soul.

Day 15 - TO SAN JOSÉ - GOING BACK HOME

Departure to San José, where you will spend the last night before return home.
